Mycena sensu lato (in the broad sense) includes an important diverse and colorful group of small litter-decomposing mushrooms. He’ll discuss the biology and taxonomy of these mushrooms and the recent splitting of the genus into a number of genera, with a display of the common species.

Dr. Fred M. Rhoades taught biology and mycology at Western Washington University. He retired in 2009 and continues to spend time in the woods photographing his friends.
